The lift truck is an essential piece of machine in most businesses that operate distribution centers, warehouses, industrial and storage handling plants. This great machine, the lift truck is constructed of various components, such as the important carriage, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Lift trucks normally have a variety of attachments as well. The following are several of the most important lift truck components.
Engine of the Lift Truck - At the back of the equipment, the forklift has its power source. The different kinds of engine on the lift truck would require varying power sources. For instance, a lift truck with an internal combustion engine could have as its power source any of the following: LP gas, CNG gas, diesel or gasoline. Electric motor lift trucks receive their power from a battery or fuel cells.
Frame of The Truck - The frame of the truck is the base of the lift truck and the most vital of all the lift truck components. This forms the core of the equipment. All other components of a forklift are connected to the base, including the axles, mast, wheels counterweight and overhead guard. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks can be part of the frame assembly as well.
Counterweight Lift Truck Parts - While carrying heavy loads, the counterweight enables the equipment to be balanced. This specific part is cast iron and comes attached to the rear of the forklift. The counterbalance balances the frame of the truck in order to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. In an electric forklift, the heavy lead-acid battery gives balance and could work as part of the counterweight.
The Cab Area - The cab is also referred to as the operator compartment. Lift trucks will sometimes have closed cabs whilst others would be open to the air. There are really a lot of components situated in the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such essential parts like for instance the steering wheel, operator controls, pedals, seats, switches and levers. The dashboard has operator readouts.
