Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is made for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage areas. This kind is recommended for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for instance retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering very easy.
The operator of this type of forklift usually stands up within a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: two in the front, and one in the rear. This configuration allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are several versions of these forklifts that are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment could pivot to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire machine. The sit-down version usually has four wheels.
An electric engine is used to power numerous narrow aisle forklifts. Machines that are electrically powered do not produce exhaust fumes and are not noisy, making them the preferred option for closed areas like retail spaces. Some lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. Then again, the diesel version is not suggested to be used indoors because it can be quite noisy and produce exhaust.
