The Liebherr family business was started during the year 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The business first gained fame from its mobile tower crane which was well-known for its ease of assembly and affordability. It was upon this creation that the company's foundation flourished under. These days, Liebherr has grown to become one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction machines. The company has also gained the reputation of being the accredited supplier of technically innovative user-oriented products and services in different fields. The business has now become a "Group" working in every continent with over 35,000 employees and more than 130 companies across the globe.
The Liebherr Group has been divided into different company units so as to ensure a manageable operating size. These individual units operate independently. This set up allows the company the ability to stay in tune with global competition and be flexible to market signals. What's more, having so many individual company units also keeps customer service running at an optimum level and ensures customer proximity.
The divisional control companies deal with the operative management of the sales companies and the production for the individual product segments. The Liebherr Group currently encompasses ten various product divisions.
The holding company of the Liebherr Group is Liebherr-International AG. Liebherr-International AG is located within Bulle, Switzerland and is operating by members of the Liebherr family.
