The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a traditional lift truck because the lifting attachment could be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this equipment exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a large range of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some units have rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things like: boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Also, which lifting attachment plays an important part, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so on. All of these specifics can be changing constantly and this gives the operator much more information to consider.
Usually, telehandlers have several load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they could determine the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending upon the configuration of the boom and the model in particular, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
