Kinds of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
Construction lifts refer to the equipment utilized to enable personnel to locate high-up places without constructing any scaffolding. They are used to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common machinery found in factory and warehouse settings also.
Normally, construction lifts provide powered and wheeled bases which are capable of driving to the work location and have a platform on them which is responsible for elevating employees. There are many various types of lifts and each one is suitable to various jobs and environment.
Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks, which are usually referred to as "cherry-pickers", carry a long boom which has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where an employee may stand. Commonly, bucket trucks are utilized by utility workers and by landscapers. Landscapers often use these machines to cut trees.
Each bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a standard truck, that enables these vehicles to move swiftly on normal roads. In addition, this increases the area which this machinery could service effectively. This is specially important for power companies. For instance, many of these businesses utilize cherry pickers to raise workers up so they can reach and work on transmission lines. The buckets have to be inspected regularly and correctly insulated as they are working close to potential shock hazards.
Articulated booms lifts or knuckle lifts include a work platform mounted to an arm which could bend and reach obstacles. The base of the lift includes a turntable and could turn the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.
Articulated boom lifts are used for landscaping projects and are handy for maintenance work on already-finished projects which do not require easy access to the area directly beneath the jobsite. These lifts could be utilized for exterior electrical work and to repair piping, and difficult to clean areas. Often knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the boom extended.
