Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machine as they pick up and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap method for transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could operate in smaller aisles. They are very useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
